9 Days /8 Night

Arrival at Colombo International Airport. A member of our staff will meet you and greet you before taking you to the desired hotel. The contrast between Colombo and the rest of the country is breathtaking. Colombo is vibrant, busy, and colorful. The historic colonial areas close to the port are now home to skyscrapers, yet the modern metropolis proudly retains its old-world charm. See the well-known Pettah bazaar, the Gangarama, and Sri Kailawasanathan Swami Devasthanam Kovil temples, as well as some of the residential sections of the city. For instance, if you go around Cinnamon Gardens, you will come across famous buildings like the Prime Minister's Office, Independence Hall, Colombo Town Hall, and the National Museum, as well as mansions owned by the wealthy. Overnight in Colombo.

Start your tour exploring Sri Lanka's animals and history after a delectable breakfast. The Golden Temple of Dambulla, a 2,000-year-old historic pilgrimage destination carved deep inside a mountain, is the first stop on the tour. The remarkable paintings of the Buddha, other gods, and Sri Lankan kings may be found in the inspirational complex of five caverns, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Go back to your hotel to get some rest. Sigiriya overnight stays are based on board selection.

Start your day with a satisfying breakfast before ascending to the Sigiriya fortress, which was built in the fifth century and is perched atop a rock that soars dramatically over 200 meters above the rainforest. The innermost bastion of a massive walled city, the citadel known as the "Lion Rock" was constructed by King Kashyapa at the summit of this enormous boulder. Walk into the lion's "belly," then use the spiral staircase that winds around the rock to go to the top. Take in the breathtaking views of the area's scenery and the horizon beyond. Explore the stunning ruins of the ancient city of Polonnaruwa in the afternoon. See the expansive man-made lake that supplies a system of irrigation canals, admire the remnants of the royal palace, and see the lovely temples and administrative structures. Enjoy the Audience Hall, the Lotus Spa, the King Parakramabahu statue, and the four rock-carved Buddha statues at the Gal Viharaya. Before going back to the hotel, think about the Shiva Temple, the Lankathilake, the Watadage, and the Galpotha. Sigiriya overnight stays are based on board selection.

Have a delicious breakfast before traveling to Matale's lovely spice and herb gardens. Some of the best spices in the world, including turmeric, nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, and lemongrass, are grown in Sri Lanka. Over a revitalizing cup of herbal tea, learn about the healing properties of various spices and techniques! Continue to Kandy and explore the exquisite Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, constructed by the British who also brought a variety of plants and flowers, creating the wonderful fields of orchids and fragrant spices you see today. King George and Queen Mary even planted a tree in 1901! Check-in at your chosen hotel that evening and get ready for an exciting new trip. On a chosen board basis, spend the night in Kandy.

Kandy is well known for its stunning lakeside setting, which is surrounded by impressive hills. However, the Temple of the Holy Tooth Relic is the city's most appealing monument. This magnificent edifice was created in the 16th century solely to house a replica of a canine tooth belonging to the Buddha. The fragrant fluids that the monks use to ritually clean the tooth relic are revered. Additional noteworthy buildings include the sanctuary, the Golden Canopy, the New Palace, the Royal Palace, the old courtroom, the Queen's Bathing House, and the New Palace. Enjoy the tranquility of the ambiance while reflecting in silence on the majestic architecture. A spectacular cultural performance featuring 12 folk and traditional dances, ceremonial drumming, and a drum will round off the day. You'll be on the edge of your seat for a sizzling fire-walking performance as well. On the chosen board option, spend the night in Kandy.

Experience Sri Lanka's most well-known commodity by touring a tea plantation and factory. See how tea is made, starting with the picking of the leaves, through grading and selection, and ending with the creation of dried tea leaves. A genuine Ceylon tea sampling at the factory will bring this experience to a close. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya, the gorgeous lakeside town renowned as the 'tea capital' and as 'Little England'. The British introduced Sri Lanka to the manufacturing of tea here. Take in Victoria Park, the racetrack, the 18-hole golf course that is regarded as one of the greatest in South Asia, the neat houses with rose lawns, and more. The aptly called Lovers' Leap waterfall and Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle are two other attractions close to this lovely remnant of an empire. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Travel in a southerly direction through tea plantations, lush surroundings, and far-flung mountain communities. Then, the next day, the next day, and so on. Then, the next day, and so on. For an exhilarating Jeep safari, travel to Yala National Park. Explore this huge natural wilderness over the course of the following three to four hours. It borders the ocean, giving it a picturesque oceanfront and a genuinely wild and unique feel. Be ready to explore sand dunes, grassy plains, and deciduous forests. Hundreds of elephants, boars, buffalo, sloth bears, deer, crocodiles, and critically endangered Sri Lankan leopards also reside in the park. So be prepared to see wildlife! Tissamaharama overnight stays are based on board selection.

Have a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel before setting out on a beautiful journey to Galle. Galle, which was colonized by the Portuguese, Dutch, and British, is now a captivating city with a rich colonial past. The Dutch-built fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has a maze-like network of picturesque pathways and alleyways lined with ancient structures. See the beautiful Meera Mosque and the charming Dutch Reformed Church before continuing your drive north to Kosgoda to see the renowned turtle hatchery. This refuge offers protection to a number of turtle species, including the hawksbill, which is endangered. Because they are left unprotected on beaches all along the coast, turtle eggs are the most vulnerable. See the enormous tanks containing the newborn, but animated, hatchlings. When they are a few days old, the hatchlings are fed and released into the water. Kalutara overnight stays are based on board selection.
